Cultivation

America's youth are always being cultivated, and they're probably not even aware of it. Wrestling is cultivating America's youth to perform the dangerous stunts they see on television, even though wrestling is fake, viewers perceive it is real.
Cultivation is the perception that what is seen on TV is true reality and is how the viewer should act. The theory is that if we watch enough programming about something, we will assume that is the norm. This can work in both positive and negative ways, but most programming and 'reality' shows on TV will provide for negative cultivation because it makes the program more fun to watch.
A great example of cultivation is wrestling. Wrestling is widely known to be fake, but unfortunately, some still believe wrestling to be real. So when viewers see their favorite wrestlers come away unharmed from crazy dangerous stunts, they feel that if they perform those same stunts, they will also come away unscathed. Professional athletes are professional for a reason. They know how to perform the stunts and come away unharmed, by correctly 'faking' stunts. A cultivated audience tries to imitate these stunts with awful results.

"I think he's gonna f*cking jump!"
